The protective cover is useful for storage if you do not have a garage or boat shed to keep your Hov Pod in. It protects the Hov Pod from the rain in case you forget to leave the drainage bungs in place during storage - these are located in the rear of the craft. It protects the nylon fan blades from extreme UV, which over many years can weaken nylon.
